New Moon in Libra — October 10, 2026

(fairness · old agreements · the yes you didn't mean · terms you can keep)

Notice what your shoulders do the next time someone asks, "Is that okay with you?" Sometimes there's a small lift, a half-second of tightening, and then the answer comes out smooth anyway: of course, totally fine, whatever works. Your body registered something before the sentence was finished. The sentence just didn't wait for it.

If you've been catching that gap more often lately, especially around one particular person, I don't think it means you've turned difficult or ungrateful. I think part of you has been keeping score for a long time, as gently as it could, and it's getting harder to pretend the numbers balance.

The Sun and Moon meet at 17° Libra on Saturday, October 10, at 11:50 AM ET. Libra is the sign of the scales, of partnership and agreements, of the deals two people make about how they'll treat each other. A new moon here opens a six-month cycle for exactly that. It's also the other half of the Aries full moon two weeks ago, which asked what you'd say if you didn't have to be fair about it first. This one picks up the same thread from the opposite side: now that you know what you want, what would actually be fair?

The complication is Libra's ruling planet. Venus turned retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, so the planet in charge of this new moon is moving backward through the sign of what's hidden, what's owed, and what never got said. A planet is called retrograde when it appears to move backward from where we stand on Earth, and symbolically it sends us back over old ground. When a new moon's ruler is retrograde, the beginning on offer looks more like reopening a contract than signing a new one. I think that's good news. Most of us don't need new relationships so much as we need the ones we already have to run on terms we actually chose.
